Simoco’s SAMS5000 AVL is a plug-in system designed for use within the SAMS desktop. The system provides GIS-based vehicle tracking and fleet monitoring functions using a built-in GPS receiver in a mobile or portable radio.
The device is suitable for any organisation that needs to manage and monitor a small- to medium-sized fleet, as it is fully compatible with the company’s mobile and portable radios and can be used in PMR mode as well as MPT1327 trunked mode.
In addition to a master node, which includes the radio server and user interface, multiple nodes can reside anywhere on the network allowing flexible workflow configurations.
All radio data transactions are recorded to a database and can be retrieved for replay or exported for data analysis. The map zooms down to street number, allows address look-up and is available as state or national.
Integrated maintenance tools, such as event log and fleet activity as well as alarm functionality, data message ability, multiple polling queues and simple management tools, makes the system flexible.
