TETRA technology supplied by Airbus will be used to support the 53rd Munich Security Conference.

A secure professional mobile radio (PMR) network will be installed for the international event.

In addition, a separate base station will be connected to the existing radio network of Stadtwerke München especially for the conference.

The secure radio technology will enable mobile communication by security and conference staff as well as German Armed Forces personnel over the entire period of the event, ensuring that they can efficiently perform their support tasks. On account of the heightened security measures, this radio system is enhanced with special encryption features.

At the same time, Stadtwerke München is once again making the Airbus TH1n, the world’s smallest TETRA radio, available to conference staff members. It is particularly suitable for covert use and has proven its effectiveness at the Munich Security Conference for years.

Over the past years, the Munich Security Conference, initially launched in 1963, has become one of the most important conferences in the field of foreign and security policy. Each year, it provides high-ranking policymakers from all over the world with a forum for constructive discussions of current and future security challenges. Numerous guests from Germany and abroad are expected at the conference.
